After more than a decade of studying nutrition and learning how it affects our bodies, inside and out, we are here to help others learn how to look at their nutrition with ease. It doesn’t have to be complicated, overwhelming or expensive. It’s about simplicity and being real.
Nutrition plays a vital role when it comes to the immune system. The immune system protects your body from harmful substances and germs. As long as your immune system is running smoothly, you don’t give it a second thought. BUT the minute it stops working properly because it has become weak and can’t fight aggressive germs…you get sick.
Here’s where nutrition comes in and its impact on your immune system. FOOD MATTERS! What you eat, the portion you eat, and how often you eat all matters. Let’s start with one simple step today: portion size. It’s very simple...in fact so simple that once you wrap your head around this simple rule and start implementing it, you will begin to see results.
Make a fist and look at it. It’s probably about the size of an apple, orange, avocado, tomato, or pepper but did you also know your fist is about the size of your stomach? If you eat more then your stomach stretches. Try and make your main meals no bigger than two fists and healthy snacks during the day the size of your fist.
Remember: the human mind is the most powerful “muscle” in the body so let it do the work for you and begin with telling it your health matters. See you next time and we’ll discuss how often we should eat and why that affects your health.
